September AND October Events
Special Lakeside Fundraiser On September 21 st , Joy and Tinker Kelly opened their
1940s lodge, which they had turned into a five-bedroom/five-bath home, to visitors who
paid for tickets to tour and enjoy the beautiful house on September 21st. The guests
were served Hors d’oeuvres provided by the DayMaker Café. Around $2800 was raised
for PAWS which will be used for reduced spay/neuter vouchers and provide free
vaccine clinics for Benton County residents.
Barktoberfest
Beaver Dam Restaurant and Marina sponsored an event on September 28 th . Named
“Barktoberfest,” this turned a rainy Saturday into an excuse to get together with new and
old friends to help raise money for the animals of Benton County. Between raffles, silent
auctions, and special sack lunches provided by Beaver Dam, around $1300 was raised
that day. Not only was money raised, but new members joined PAWS. It seems the
consensus is that Barktoberfest should become an annual event!
Baggers for Tail Waggers-
On October 12th, Three Rivers Cornhole in New Johnsonville hosted a “Baggers for Tail
Waggers” Cornhole Tournament to benefit the Proactive Animal Welfare Society
(PAWS) of Benton Co, TN. Folks had a great time at Sky-Way Pizza and Bowling and
raised around $600, enough money to help spay or neuter six dogs or cats in Benton
County!
The group ended up running 2 Blind Draw Tournaments.
And the winners are…
Blind draw 1
1st place - Dylan R. Led and Jamison N
2nd place - Dan McDaniel and Ethan Newton
3rd place - Jamie Lee and Josh Greer
Blind draw 2
1st place - Dylan and Ron Gingerich
2nd place - Dan and Aidan Bower
3rd place - Ethan and Ghost
The other winners were the dogs and cats of Benton County! Without support like this,
PAWS would not be able to help pay for spay and neuter, trap and release, and free
vaccine clinics. PAWS could not help the Benton County Animal Shelter with
veterinarian bills and other necessary things, such as new outdoor pens.
PAWS sincerely thanks Three Rivers Cornhole, Sky-Way Pizza and Bowling, and the
community for what they do to help us! If you or your organization would like to host a
fundraiser for us, contact us at pawsbentontn@gmail.com, or leave a message on our
Facebook page.
