1) Is PAWS the same as the Benton County Animal Shelter?
No. PAWS is a separate nonprofit that supports the shelter through fundraising, advocacy, and direct services. We work closely with BCAS but operate independently. PAWS has no say in BCAS policies or procedures.
2) How can I adopt a pet?
Adoptions are handled directly through the Benton County Animal Shelter. Visit their facility or contact them to learn about available pets and the adoption process.
3) What community services does PAWS provide?
PAWS offers free vaccination clinics, spay and neuter assistance and TNR to eligible residents of Benton County.
4) How do I become a member?
You can become a member by filling out the membership form online and submitting your annual fee. Membership gives you a vote in organizational decisions and supports our ongoing efforts.
5) Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes! PAWS of Benton County is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
6) Do you help with emergency vet bills?
Not at this time. But we hope to in the future.
7) What is the TNR program?
TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return. It’s a humane way to manage feral cat populations by trapping, sterilizing, and releasing them back into their habitat to live out their lives without reproducing.
8) How are your programs funded?
Our services are funded through donations, grants, community fundraising events, and membership dues. We operate entirely as a volunteer-run organization.
9) I have pet supplies to donate—do you accept them?
We gratefully accept non-food items for resale in the Two Sisters Shop. Please donate any food items directly to BCAS.
10) Can I give anonymously and not become a member?
Yes, absolutely! We welcome and appreciate anonymous donations from anyone who wants to support our mission. You do not need to become a member to contribute. Whether it’s a one-time gift, supplies from our wish lists, or a donation through Venmo, your generosity makes a difference—no names required.
If you'd prefer to stay anonymous, simply indicate that when donating online (most platforms offer an option) or let us know if you're giving in person. While membership comes with added involvement and voting rights, we understand that some donors prefer to support quietly—and we’re grateful for every gift, big or small.
